GPS-Synchronized Display Clock – Toyota MR2 SW20 (OEM-Style Mod)

I always found it frustrating that every time the battery is disconnected, the factory clock has to be set manually again. It’s a small thing, but over time it became surprisingly annoying.

So I decided to build a simple modification that automatically sets the correct date and time using a GPS module.

Yes — it’s probably overkill, but it’s cheap, reliable, and works perfectly

The setup uses two displays and a GPS receiver as the time source. Thanks to GPS synchronization, the clock always shows the correct time after reconnecting the battery — no user input required. Even when driving across time zones (for example, to the USA), the time remains accurate.

Key features:

  • Automatic date and time via GPS

  • No manual adjustment after battery disconnect

  • Plug & play installation

  • OEM-like appearance

  • Dark plexiglass front to match the factory interior

The final result looks very close to stock, but adds modern functionality that the original clock never had. A small upgrade, but one that significantly improves everyday usability.

Happy to share more details if anyone is interested.

People ask me, if there is a chance to integrate TPMS with my OEM+ clock….So yes, it’s possible!!

I’m not so strong to make pressure in that bottle, but u can see that bars grow up (from 0.4 to 0.5), and yes, it also support temperature

Today I’m finish test with some ble TPMs so now it’s propably almost finish my clock :slightly_smiling_face:
Works quite good, only changing colors from website works little slower, delay is about 200ms but tasks with ble/gps and draw is priority for me. Color we will change once, and we will watching on screen al day :slightly_smiling_face:

And my semi pro pressure tester from….. yoghurt
